At around 20:00 on April 17, 2026, on National Route 115 in Tsuchiyu Onsen-machi, Fukushima City, a passenger car traveling from Inawashiro toward Fukushima City struck one bear that had entered the road. The vehicle was partly damaged but the male driver was not injured; the bear left the scene. Police, working with Fukushima City Hall, warned people in the area to be cautious.

Around 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2026, on Route 115 in the Tsuchiyu Onsen area of Fukushima City, a witness (male in his 30s) was driving from Inawashiro Town toward Fukushima City when his vehicle struck one bear (length unknown) that entered the road from the right side (southwest) of his direction of travel. The bear then left the scene in some direction.

Around 6:30 AM on July 18, on National Route 115 in Tobu Onsen-cho, Fukushima City, a man in his 40s driving toward Inawashiro Town encountered a bear about 1 m long that suddenly darted out from the right (west) side of the direction of travel; the bear turned around and returned to the woods.
