At around 20:40 on November 16, a single bear about 0.5 m long was sighted in a vacant lot south of Sakuragaoka Park in Kitakata. The following morning at 06:50 on November 17, a bear of similar size was also seen on Route 459 (Kitakata, Yamatocho Kohata Kitamukai), and no injuries or property damage were reported; the bear later entered the forest.

In Matsuyama-machi, Kitakata City, at around 10:00 a.m. on the 15th, one bear about 1 meter long was seen climbing persimmon trees and hiding in bushes. There are nurseries and houses nearby, and since a sighting believed to be the same individual was reported on the 14th, authorities have continued to monitor the area and set box traps.
