At around 06:30 on April 9, 2026, a local woman spotted a single bear about 1 meter long walking west across a rice field in Takadota aza Murahigashi, Toyokawa-machi, Kitakata City. The bear's subsequent whereabouts are unknown and no injuries have been reported. Police are patrolling the area and warning residents to be cautious.

At around 00:50 on November 26, a woman in her 50s spotted one bear about 1 meter long on a municipal road south of the Prefectural Kitakata Kirizakura High School in Toyokawa-machi, Kitakata City. The bear moved into fields to the south and disappeared; no injuries or property damage have been reported. Police are sharing information with Kitakata City and conducting patrols in the area.

In Matsuyama-machi, Kitakata City, at around 10:00 a.m. on the 15th, one bear about 1 meter long was seen climbing persimmon trees and hiding in bushes. There are nurseries and houses nearby, and since a sighting believed to be the same individual was reported on the 14th, authorities have continued to monitor the area and set box traps.

Around 1:33 AM on October 11, on a road in Kitakata City, Koshakami area, a witness viewing live security camera footage observed a bear about 1.5 m moving south on the west side of the road. A police officer at the scene also observed another bear about 50 cm on the south side of a private residence. The two bears joined, but their whereabouts afterward are unknown.
