A bear about 1.0 m long was seen in a buckwheat field along a prefectural road near Sugizawa Kami-Ani Line; it appeared to be eating buckwheat seeds, then left toward the east into the forest. About 200 m from nearby houses.

While workers were moving around at an empty-house demolition site inside the settlement, an Asian black bear about 70 cm in body length was seen on the road of a prefectural route. It then headed west into the forest, about 40 m from a nearby house.

Around 11:00 AM, a village official on patrol in a government vehicle to assess flood damage spotted a bear about 70 cm long in a soba field along the Sugizawa-Kamikoani Line. It then headed east into the forest. It was about 100 m straight from National Route 285 to a nearby house.
