[Report] While doing farm work, I witnessed a bear that crossed the Kawarashi Bridge from the village side, crossed the prefectural road, and moved toward the rice fields. One bear about 1 m (in size).

On the morning of November 11, 2025, at a residence in Shimokitate Samukawa, Akita City, a 4-year-old female Shiba Inu chained in the yard was attacked by a bear about 1.2 meters long and dragged away together with its doghouse. Hunters searched and the dog's collar was found in the afternoon, but the dog and the bear remain missing; on November 13 a bear was also reported sighted in Nara-yama Jōnan-chō, Akita City.
