On Saturday, January 17, at about 8:57 PM, on National Route 118 in Tamagawa Village (Odaka area), the witness bicycling south on Route 118 observed a bear-like animal (body length unknown) moving south on the opposite side of the road. There were no injuries to people.

Around 4:00 PM on Wednesday, January 14, on a road in the area of Take no Uchi, Iwabaji, Tamagawa Village (Oaza Iwabaji, Takenouchi), a bear footprint was found. There were no sightings of the bear itself, and no damage was confirmed. On January 16, village hall staff and Tamagawa Village Wildlife Damage Countermeasure Team members confirmed the footprint and identified it as a bear's footprint.
