In Kurihara City, cutting of persimmon and chestnut trees that attract bears began based on residents' requests. Work started on December 22, 2025 in the Ichihasama district, where four persimmon trees on residential property were removed by the local forestry cooperative; the city says completion will be in fiscal 2027 due to necessary on-site surveys.
