At around 07:50 on November 22, 2025, a man in his 70s was attacked in the grounds of a clinic/hospital in Ichihasama, Kurihara City; the mother bear scratched his face and right arm and he was taken to hospital. Two bears believed to be a mother and cub were seen at the scene and later moved east.
