On September 21 in an apple orchard in Fujisaki Town, Aomori Prefecture, a man in his 50s was attacked and injured by a bear while removing apple leaves. There had been nearby bear sighting reports; the man resisted and repelled the bear, and his daughter in her 20s who was working with him described the scene.
