On July 22, at a poultry farm in Okinura, Kuroishi City, 45 chickens were found dead and the city suspects a bear attack. Yesterday, a trap about 2 km southeast of the farm caught a single male bear estimated at 1.4 m long, 80–90 kg and 4–5 years old; feathers were found in its feces, suggesting it may be the same animal, and because DNA identification was not possible the city will continue setting traps for about two months.
