On Thursday, June 4 at approximately 5:30 a.m., on the Iwaki–Namie prefectural road in Yamada-mae, Ide, Namie Town, a witness (man in his 20s) traveling southbound on the Iwaki–Namie prefectural road in a vehicle observed a bear (about 1.5 m in body length) crossing in front of his vehicle from west to east.
