In a paddy field in Higashiyuri, Yurihonjo City, a man in his 40s was attacked by a bear while inspecting the fields and sustained injuries to his face and right arm. He ran to a nearby house/pharmacy for help and was airlifted to hospital by doctor helicopter; reports say he was conscious and able to speak.
