At around 10:40 on November 12, a female staff member reported a cub near the convent entrance of Sendai Shirayuri Gakuen Junior & Senior High School in Izumi-ku, Sendai. The cub entered the school grounds, briefly remained there, and by about 11:15 the number had increased to 2–3 before they left for nearby forest; no injuries were reported.
