Daisen has just seen a bear about 1.5 m long cross National Route 105 toward Omagari on April 29, 2026 at 10:39, then head into the mountains to the southeast. On the same day, bears were also reported near Tochiya, Iida, and along the highway toward Akita City, including one that milled around the left embankment and another that ran near a baseball field from a bus.
