Oga had a close call on April 26 at Oga Funagawaminato Honzanmonzen, where a young black bear about 80 cm long was found roughly 3 meters behind a person gathering wild plants; when called at, it ran off and its direction was not known. Another black bear was also reported in Oga Futto later that same morning, adding to the sense that bears are still moving through the area.

The heaviest activity has been around Oga Toga Kamoaosa, where bears were seen on April 24 along the prefectural road, while earlier reports also came from Oga Funakoshi and Oga Unoki near buildings and along roads. The broader pattern shows the biggest surge in November 2025 with 76 incidents and October 2025 with 70, before dropping through winter, and Oga has recorded 235 black bear sightings overall.
