Yanaizu’s latest black bear report came on April 17, 2026, when a bear about 1.2 m long was seen by the roadside in Gōdo Maruyama Kō, with another sighting in Maruyama Ko the same day and a separate report in Furuya shiki also tied to Gōdo. Earlier that week, on April 15, 2026, a bear about 50 cm long was spotted in roadside brush in Tsumenaka, showing that animals are still moving close to roads.
