Around 08:00 on the 26th, a 50-year-old male zoo staff member was attacked by a wild bear about 80 cm long near the Omoriyama Zoo 4th parking lot in Hamada, Akita City, and was bitten on his right shoulder. The staff member escaped to the office, received first aid and was taken to a hospital conscious, the bear left the scene, and the city installed a capture cage.
