At around 11:25 on May 5, 2026, a man driving on the main local road (the Haramachi-Ebizoma Line, known as Hamakaidō) in Kitaizumi-uraatama, Haramachi Ward, Minamisōma City, spotted a bear about 1.5 meters long crossing the road. No human or property damage has been confirmed so far; the scene is about 500 meters from a beach and other sightings have been reported, so the police are urging caution.
