Around 21:30 on November 7, at the parking lot of a hot-spring inn near JR Echigo-Yuzawa Station in Yuzawa Town, a man in his 30s visiting from another prefecture was attacked by a bear, suffering a bite to his left arm and scratches to the back of his left hand. The bear, about 1 meter long, ran off toward another hot-spring facility.
