On the morning of October 5, 2025 in Shirakawa-go, a bear emerging from the grass attacked a Spanish male tourist in his 40s, causing a minor injury to his right arm. In response, the shuttle bus to the observation deck was temporarily suspended but resumed operation on the 7th; the walkway to the observation deck is closed until the 10th.
