On May 5 in Kitaizumi, Haramachi Ward, Minamisoma City, a bear crossing a road was captured on a dashboard camera and the city confirmed it was a bear. In response, the city closed facilities including the Kitaizumi Seaside General Park campsite, and on May 10 and 11 there were three additional sighting reports on prefectural roads in Kamikitakahira, Haramachi Ward.
