Another bear was also reported at Yamamoto Kodaira on January 1, 2026, at 11:10, showing that sightings are still reaching the town into the new year.
Most of the activity has centered on Yamamoto Town itself, especially the wooded and forested edges around Ohira and Odaira, with the heaviest stretch in December 2025, when reports surged to 8. The town has recorded 19 black bear sightings in all, and the recent monthly totals show a quiet January 2026 and February 2026, after a busier October 2025 with 4 and smaller reports in November 2025, September 2025, August 2025, May 2025, and January 2025.
